Yet another year comes to a close, and what an eventful year 2012 has been!
With countless law suits between some of the biggest companies in the world, creating havoc and confusion for consumers. Companies trying to ban each others devices with the use of bogus and unjustified patents. Oracle being made a fool of for trying to claim patent or copyright protection on obvious code, a range checking function! Then there was Apple, getting it's wrists slapped by the UK courts for not complying with the court order stating Samsung did not infringe Apple's registered design.
It really is about time these big companies stopped fighting each other in court and wasting money that could be invested in innovation. Consumers want products that work and are reliable, they also want choice. A lot of consumers could not care who makes the product, they want it to work well.
I hope 2013 will mean that some of the big companies cut back on law suits and start thinking of their customers. We also need to see more developers within the various App stores and the end to the monopoly with certain Apps stores, which only hurts consumers, Apple take note!
Whilst our blog has been quiet since launching our new site, we have been busy working on a number of products and ideas. We have successfully migrated a duty database to use a web based service called Dutyman for Chew Valley Lake Sailing Club. So if your a club or organisation is looking to migrate your duty system to Dutyman, and need some help or advice, then please get in touch with us and we'll be happy to help.
As we are an innovative company, we are always looking for new ideas and ways in which we can help other small businesses. So if you have any ideas or requirements for your company related to IT then we would love to hear from you.
If you are a small business or company then the new year maybe a good time to review your IT requirements or website etc. A fresh new look website could help attract new business from new and existing customers.
I'll finish off by wishing everyone a very happy and prosperous New Year, and we look forwards to doing business with you in 2013, and beyond.
Steve
